Ready to Race

Motocross and rally in Uganda — the riders, the teams, the sponsors and the tracks.

The bikes

KTM Racing

KTM is an Austrian motorcycle maker from Mattighofen, founded in 1934. Its slogan "Ready to Race" sums up its focus on off-road competition, and its orange SX motocross range is one of the most successful in history.

Range: 50 SX, 65 SX, 85 SX for kids and juniors; 125 SX and 250 SX two-strokes; 250, 350 and 450 SX-F four-strokes for MX2 and MX1. KTM riders such as Jeffrey Herlings and Chase Sexton have won world and AMA titles, and many Ugandan juniors race KTMs.

In the 2026 NRC he finished 2nd in Mbale (season opener), retired from the Pearl of Africa Rally in Mbarara, placed 6th in Greater Masaka and 2nd again in Soroti/Katakwi — winning five stages there, including the power stage. Middle brother · Africa's No. 1

Stav Asiimwe Orland

Three-time Africa champion: MX85 gold in Zambia 2018, MX2 gold in 2023 and again in Marrakesh 2024, where he led Team Uganda to silver. He has trained and raced in the USA, including the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Youngest brother

Alon Orland

Won the MX65 African title aged 11 in Harare, Zimbabwe (2019), helping Uganda to its best-ever third place. Swept every MX65 heat at the 2018 national season opener.
